Tips and Tricks

Enable automatic sync in the Calendar Sync dialog to have events imported every hour automatically. This is perfect for keeping your family calendar up-to-date with external calendars without manual intervention.

Example

If you add an event to your Google Calendar, it will appear in the app within an hour (or immediately if you tap "Import Now").

The app only imports events from external calendars—it never exports or modifies your original calendar data. This means you can safely connect your calendars without any risk to your existing events.

Example

Connecting your Google Calendar will import events into the app, but your Google Calendar remains completely unchanged. You can disconnect anytime without affecting your external calendar.

Access calendar sync from the Calendar page by tapping the sync icon (🔄) in the header, or from Calendar Settings. You can import events from your Apple Calendar (iOS/Android) or Google Calendar (web). Large imports are processed in batches to keep the app responsive.

Example

If you have hundreds of events, the import will show progress (e.g., "Importing 50/200") and you can cancel if needed. The app processes events in batches of 50 to ensure smooth performance.

Need to gently remind someone about a task? Open the task detail dialog and tap the poke button (👆 icon) to send a friendly nudge. The recipient will get a notification with a fun, randomized greeting like "Hey!", "Psst!", or "Poke!". There's a 1-minute cooldown per task to keep things balanced.

Example

If your child has a task due soon, poke them to give a gentle reminder without being naggy. They'll appreciate the heads up!

Celebrate accomplishments with virtual high-fives! You can high-five someone for completing a specific task, or give a general high-five anytime using the trophy icon (🏆) in the task dialog. Each high-five includes a positive, randomized message like "Way to go!", "Nice work!", or "You rock!" to add variety and warmth.

Example

When someone completes a challenging task, give them a high-five to show appreciation. It's a simple way to recognize effort and build positive reinforcement!

Family Polls (Premium) are quick decision polls for your household—e.g. "Pizza or tacos?" or "Movie night: comedy or action?" Everyone votes, you see results at a glance.

What you can do

• Create a poll — Tap + on the Polls page. Enter a question and at least two options (e.g. "Pizza", "Tacos"). Tap Create.
• Vote — Tap an option to cast your vote. You can change your vote anytime before the poll is closed.
• See results — Each option shows a bar and count. One vote per family member per poll.
• Close a poll — If you created the poll, tap the close icon to lock it. No new votes after that.

Where to find it

Open the dashboard and tap Polls (or Upgrade for Polls if you're on the free plan). Polls are premium-only.

Double-tap any day on the Calendar to jump straight into creating an event for that date. The event dialog will open with the date already prefilled.

Double-tap any profile or column header on the Tasks board to quickly create a task for that person. The task creation dialog will open with the assignee already selected.

Double-tap any task card to quickly cycle through status progression. The task will move through: Todo → In Progress → Done → (back to Todo).

Example

A task in "Todo" status will move to "In Progress" when double-tapped, then to "Done" on the next double-tap, and back to "Todo" after that.

In both Week and Day views, you can pinch to zoom in and out to see more or fewer hours at once. Zoom out to see the full day at a glance, or zoom in to focus on specific time slots. The zoom range is from 4 to 24 hours visible.

Pinch out (spread fingers) to see more hours at once, or pinch in (bring fingers together) to zoom in on a specific time range. Perfect for planning your day!

The Smart Scratchpad captures text from share sheets, clipboard, or manual input and intelligently parses it to create tasks or calendar events. It can extract dates, assignees, priorities, and other details from natural text input.

You can access it by tapping the + button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
