Treehouse allows you to create, upload, and share content within your family group, including tasks, notes, lists, calendar events, and other information (collectively, "User Content").
2. Ownership of User Content
You retain all ownership rights to the User Content you create and upload to Treehouse. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.
3. License to Treehouse
By using Treehouse, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, reproduce, modify, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and improving the Service. This license:
- Allows us to host and display your content within your family group
- Enables us to provide features like syncing across devices
- Permits us to create backups and ensure data availability
- Allows us to use your content for marketing and promotional purposes (with appropriate anonymization and consent where required)
- Does not grant us the right to sell or license your content to third parties
4. Content Sharing Within Family Groups
User Content you create is automatically shared with other members of your family group as part of the Service's core functionality. By creating content in Treehouse, you understand and agree that:
- All family members in your group can view and interact with shared content
- Family members with appropriate permissions can edit or modify shared content
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you upload
5. Content Deletion
You can delete your User Content at any time through the Service. When you delete content:
- The content will be removed from your view and your family members' views
- Deleted content may remain in our backups for a limited period for data recovery purposes
- We will permanently delete your content from our active systems in accordance with our data retention policies
6. Prohibited Content
You agree not to upload, post, or share content that:
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Contains harmful, abusive, or offensive material
- Violates the privacy or rights of others
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms without notice.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
7.1 Treehouse Service
The Treehouse Service, including its design, features, functionality, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Treehouse and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
7.2 Third-Party Content
Treehouse may include content, features, or functionality from third parties. Such content is subject to the respective third party's terms and conditions.
8. Copyright Infringement
If you believe that any content on Treehouse infringes your copyright, please contact us at support@treehousetasks.com with:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- The location of the allegedly infringing content

- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate
9. Content Backup and Recovery
While we maintain backups to help protect your data, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important content. We are not liable for any loss of User Content.
